I am glad 42% of folks paid upto 1000 amount. Although this could also mean large chunk of people who had only primary salaried income and figured out how income tax works for them. Therefore still low penetration of mutual fund, stocks etc as instruments of investment. Anyone else get this thought?

It's aug... Take the next 6 months to learn how to file ITR1. Simplest of all. Paying for this is absolute stupidity.ITR2 is just extra documentation. Not complex. The department has enough documents and line by line explanation on how to fill them

The best part is then get filled automatically, all you have to do it check the numbers.

People who pay more then 2k, why?. Are you really that easy to cheat?

Itr3 and above.. I agree... I less one have a reasonable understanding of accounting one cannot do. Hiring "expert" for ITR 1 and paying for it is stupidity, no harm in doing it, their money they are free to do what ever. But it doesn't mean it's not stupidity.
