While working in a service based company I was in bench once and interviewed to work on a client's project. I was shortlisted among a group of 6 guys and 1 woman. Even after shortlisting they ended up giving the job to her instead because the HR said and I quote "This project needed some diversity in gender ratio." So, I understand this guy's frustration. But eventually that rejection led me down to a better path in job-wise.
Companies have run of idea to do/improve business. They borrowed a tactic from politics. I blame it on the raise of Indians in ceo level and the drop of westerners willing to do hard work. Indians may be tactical genius, but we are strategic fools. We bring our trading mentality everywhere.
