Walk the talk
If Swiggy, Zomato, Zepto, Dunzo, etc. start charging additional 5 Rs fee per order, all of which will go towards group health insurance of Driver Partners and their families, will you pay it?

Just because customers are paying, not all added costs need to be shifted to them.
It will give rise to competitors and customers won't miss a beat switching over

What we fail to realize is that who's benefiting from these apps? VCs are burning money, the apps are losing money, restaurants are getting squeezed and delivery partners aren't getting paid well too. It's us the customers. It's time to get off our high horse and realize that these apps have made our lives much better both operationally and financially.
Similar situation in the US.

Cannot agree more, but Indian consumers are not built like US. We are, well a little entitled, and need services at lowest possible fees. Very few will pay up.
Bigbasket was one of the earliest entry in this, do you use it now? their MOV is 600 for delivery.
You get it in 199 MOV in Instamart and Zepto. They will be replaced as well

If they regulate their fucking high commissions from restaurants (some as high as 35%), I definitely would.
Hell, if they just show the real price of the food(not the inflated one) and the remaining amount is their platform fee(standard and fixed) and insurance fee etc. I would definitely take that up

So, let me be clear :
- They should get insurance for delivery agents
- They should reduce commissions from restaurants
- They should make delivery agents their employees and gove all benefits like PF, gratuity, etc
- They should not charge customers for delivery
- They should cure cancer
- They should bring Sub saharan Africa out of poverty
- They should end dictatorship and ensure all countries have democracy
- They should find a cure for Global warming
- They should end Israel - Iran War
And do all these things while making money for their investors and shareholders
Anything else?
They should also give me their ESOPs😂
I understand your desire to be sarcastic across every point you make. But if you think you are coming across as smart, let me enlighten you, you aren't. You just are coming across as someone who thinks only you have all the right answers in the world and world should revolve around you.
I suggest you tone down your response and make your points better with intention to put forth why you think something should be the case rather than being sarcastic. There's more than 1 way to make a point, choosing a simpler and humble way would certainly help you make your points which imo is your intention behind your posts.

The amount they charge from us and from restaurant commisions already should cover the cost of basic insurance. If we pay more, it will only increase their ego to cut corners on employee benefits.
They should reduce their spends on PR and provide better facilities to their driver partners. There was no need for so much PR push for Pet-friendly leave policy. Instead they could've spent it on insurance or some basic necessities.
No. The company should close if they cannot provide insurance. This will normalise like the ~begging~ tipping culture in the US where you pay the salary of waiter.
