Salary comparison of software vs consulting 15 yrs down the line

I have checked salaries on grape vine. For tech the max salaries for freshers start at 80 LPA and go upto 2.5 cr after 15 years of experience. However I can see for consulting the range is around 10 lakhs to 70 lakhs after 15 years.

Is this true? I have heard people make around 3-4 cr at partner level in McKinsey which takes around 8-10 yrs to go.

Haha thank you, I get what you're saying but I was just curious.
Coz I don't understand why consultants are willing to work something hard if not for monetary compensation in long term
