Stuck in tech support

Hi , I joined Capgemini as a fresher in last December and I was somehow mapped to a support project and as a freshers I couldn't say no to the project . Its been 7 months already and I haven't learnt anything because my work doesn't require any technical skills but I have managed to learn python and its frameworks and few things like RestAPI,git, docker, etc. I have also done few basic projects based on authentication and Crud operations in django.I wish to pursue my career in backend development but I find it so difficult to find an opportunity as a fresher with 3 months of notice period. I was planning on resigning in September and by the time i finish my notice period I'll be having 1 yoe and mean while apply for other companies if i dont find any job atleast I'll take up some intership in that way I can lear stuff. I dont know if I am thinking or planning things right. Your thoughts or suggestions would matter a lot for me at this point.

I was also in a similar kind of situation. Where I was trained in .Net and allocated to a Support Project. 90 days notice period is like a curse. After struggling a lot finally I am out of the support role and working as an SRE. I hope you find some way to get out of it.

After how long you quit Support because I am already into this from 7 months and now I do not see any other opportunities other than support and this is my first job so no prior experience in development .How did you get away with 90days notice period ?

I was there for 2.5 years. I started giving interviews to gain confidence. After a couple of interviews I took the risk to put down my papers without any offer(which I don't recommend now). Note: if you want interviews to be scheduled in the beginning never tell them your NP is 90 days. I always said I am serving notice period 30 days remaining.

i am having the same issue , I resigned from the Support role after 2 years , but now in Naukri and all people and HR consider you only for support roles .Dev roles seem to be out of reach . Dont know what to do

Getting an interview is almost impossible as loads of fresh guys coming in .

I won't advise you to resign until you have a confirmed job offer. In the meantime, you could take advantage of the excellent courses being offered by Capgemini NEXT/ Degreed platform, of Capgemini University. At least you will upgrade your skills and get certified too like in Azure, AWS and Agile/ SAFe, etc.
