Never join a startup if you are married and need work life balance

So you think Apple WLB is great? Wait till you attend 1:30 am meeting on Sunday & 6 am meeting on Monday 😂

Take 4 more years in Apple, your base is quite low as per experience, then join the startup, when you are in a lead position, you won't regret it.

Whoever this person is to compare Apple with a startup needs to start eating almonds to get some brain.

Please give tips about Apple interview. What is your tech stack? Did they ask very tough DSA questions? I voted for startup, just due to the hire&fire going on these days. If you are confident about startup not taking any layoff for next 3-4 yrs, only then join. Otherwise, Apple has very good reputation in terms of little or no layoff. Besides, Apple is a huge brand and they are giving stocks too (though it is peanuts, not sure why they gave this low overall package)

I voted for Apple,

Startup

Why is everyone voting for the 1st option 😳

You have not mentioned work location on vote options. After seeing comment that it’s wfh for startup you will definitely get a good work life balance with good savings that’s all. Or else 1st option is best for the people living in Hyderabad.

I'll tell you the pros and cons of both.
Base salary - Startup Def wins here. Huge huge difference. But its not all gloomy considering other things
WLB - Startup will give you a run for its money. Weekends, nights, holidays, on calls, everything.
Plus you mentioned startup is remote. Rent etc is definitely a huge cost that Apple is costing you.
Now it's your call. If you can and want to hustle (read work 90 hour weeks or more), startup is the clear winner. But if you have even 1% doubt and want WLB, go to Apple.

Compensation at international remote startups
Does any one work for startup’s which are not based in India? What should be the ideal compensation expectation in such cases. Is it fair to ask for a salary equivalent to that of an US software dev if the startup is based in the US?
