Business Intelligence vs Product Manager

Hi All, I need advice from experienced folks here. I joined a recruitment firm working in blue collar around 6 months back as a Product Manager. Around 4 months into the system, I was tasked to build the business intelligence system (it has been ongoing). My manager asked me to whether I want to continue in data and build core skills in data analytics based on my interest and what plans for career. I am a little confused here since I haven’t tried real Product per se and although I enjoy working with data I am not sure whether to build career as a BA and if I can build data competency working as a PM. I need to get back to them by next Tuesday. What are your thoughts here? Please be brutally honest, will appreciate pros and cons Thank You!

Hey all I am a working as a technical product manager from 2+ years in a nbfc. My manager has given me the option to switch to business product manager. Reason for switch : Our product (LOS and LMS) is a complex and extremely large. Due to this, I had asked for a additional product manager. Manager had hired it reluctantly. Now he feels that product does not require 2 products. Has anyone done such switch? How was the experience? Should I switch or should I deny?

Is MBA required to get APM jobs? Currently BDA

Hey folks, I'm wondering what kinda role I should pursue next after product management. I'm done with this role, works vary from company to company and team to team. It's tough to make people understand the difference between pre-PMF products & mature products, and how the metrics impact vary across the spectrum. And this completely changes the equation of your appraisal or your promotion as well. I don't see myself working in the same kind of role after 5 years. So I'm wondering what kinda role I should look out for? My general interests are more analytics & strategy centric. What do you guys think??

How does one move from Analytics to Product Management roles? I have ~2.5 years experience in Business Analytics. Recently I have been working on ML use cases as well. I also have product analytics experience. I really feel like I would do better in a PM role because working on a product end to end really excites me and I can use my analytics experience in that role as well. Bur how does one do this transition? Do companies accept your CV if you have nil PM experience but still wanna move into this role? Anyone who has made this transition, could you comment how you did it?

So, I've started getting ready for it. - I've noticed a concerning trend among PMs, both through personal observation and online discussions, where they tend to overlook data integrity, opting instead to manipulate it to portray success. - I firmly believe that Product Managers play a pivotal role in taking calculated risks, fostering innovation, and ultimately ensuring the success of their products. - Despite being well-compensated in my current position, my drive to optimize the top of the funnel compels me to pursue a career shift into Product Management. - I firmly believe that power within a company comes with a corresponding responsibility. - It's evident that many PMs are fighting with dissatisfaction, often experiencing high levels of stress and unhappiness. I'm keen to understand the root causes of this discontent and how professionals in this field are managing such challenges. - Despite being inherently talented individuals, why does Product Management seem to come with such a significant stress burden?

Indian. I am a SDE (backend) currently. ~2 yrs exp. 16 LPA and I work 40-50 hrs a week. I like where I am, but I am not feeling the zeal for tech anymore. Probably will do a MBA down the line (thinking abroad, not sure) Looking for equal or greater pay, similar WLB, new domain. Should I switch to PM and try a hand at it? Am I aware of the reality or living in my own isolated reality?

I had 4+ yrs of experience in Data and moved to PM role in US Startup a year back. The pay is great. But I'm not doing the product management work here. I'm doing a general project management kind of work. Pros: Good pay Got the role of PM. I chose this opportunity only because of this role. Now I'm planning to change job and get into Indian startups. I can manipulate my responsibilities to describe for a PM role. But will I get enough opportunity with this background - Moved from analytics, experience in US Startup, no real product work (but I can update that) or should I go back to Analytics only. Please comment.
