Double standards?

I have seen many instances where a person, A who has a huge respect for a person B- B is a successful person and an expert in his domain- suddenly starts despising B because B's opinion on topics such as politics, finance, economy, defence etc are not aligned with that of A. So much so that A starts doubting the credibility of B which few seconds back he/she was a admirer of!

Why do we change our behaviour just because our opinion with the other person differs?

I think that this is all gathered subconsciously without realising how much toxicity we have internalised. Since knowledge is a commodity now, every one thinks that they are expert just by reading few books, blogs etc.
The people who genuinely knows about its field will never abhor any person if they see someone countering his/her opinion
The problem is mostly between two noobs who don't know shit about what they are talking and claims to win the ground by vomiting heavy words. It's very dificult to have a conversation. Ironically the more platforms we have for socialising, the worse we have become.
