- Freshworks' IT services business, led by Freshservice, has an annual run rate of $340 million, making up about 50% of the company's revenue.
- The company reported a 20% revenue increase to $174 million for April-June 2024, with net losses flat at $44 million due to ESOP expenses, and maintains a cash reserve over $1 billion.
- Freshworks has revised its 2024 revenue projection to $707-$713 million, driven by higher demand for AI solutions, and aims for $1 billion in revenue by 2026.
- Woodside plans to invest in product and engineering resources for IT and employee experience solutions, and recently completed a $230-million acquisition of Device42 to strengthen its IT services business.

- He will assist the newly appointed CEO, Dennis Woodside, until October 1 to ensure a smooth transition.

I recently worked at a startup and it was terrible. 

To be honest, I still worked at one of the better ones but it just sucked. 

Some of the clear downsides I see 

- Survival mode leads to chaos. You can be treated anyway and asked to leave whenever  even though you left big opportunities to be here 
- Brand loss to find next job (Big problem)
- Trying to make you feel unworthy(Doesn't bother me but I have seen people lose self confidence)
- Loss of opportunity to build real skills like building sustainable teams for the long run

I think over all working at a startup especially early teams is a losing proposition. Do it only if -
 - you know the founders/team well 
- you know the industry and market well and it is a bet you personally believe in
- you are secure enough in life that if you go back to your job, you will easily get employed 


For middle class kids, startups are the worst bets one can take.

What changed for you post acquisition and how did it change your lives

Context: worked at a small startup getting acquired soon by a publicly listed company

Anyone who worked at a startup then got acquired by a big company?

I was working in a startup, but I left only after a couple of years. 😅 That startup got acquired by a big company some years after I left.  
  
 My co-workers who stayed till the acquisition, their life changed in two ways at acquisition: 
  
 1. Each of them got USD $1 million cash in exchange for the e-sops / equity they owned  
  
 2. On acquisition, their salaries immediately got doubled by the acquiring company, in line with the company's salary bands 
  
 So there, that's how lives change on acquisition. 😄

I have been wanting to switch my job for the past year, and as a procrastinator it's a very daunting task. I am living in fear, that I am being too comfortable here, which I don't believe is entirely true. I am from the North, and I have been in Chennai for the past 2 years, it's good but I don't like my company's work culture, I am handling design for 7 platforms as of now, and I love how I am getting to do all of that, but obviously everything works very slowly, and since I am not exactly in the product team, I don't even know I am doing anything impactful. 

With the amount of work I am doing right now, it's very hard to pay attention to my portfolio. I am feeling stuck, and I should be grateful like others that are here but tbh I am not. 

At this point of time, I want a job that's remote, pays well, and I can do some impactful work. 

I know writing it all here, won't help me, but still, I thought I would just pour everything out.
