Got a Macbook for the first time. What next?
I have been a Windows user with a pinchful of Linux Mint here and there for all of my life. I have got 15" Macbook Air M2 from my company. Ive installed basic software and now need to set it up properly. What should I do? What apps should I download? What settings and configurations should I change?

If you’re Bangalore, now you are eligible to visit Third Wave Coffee, Starbucks, Blue Tokai etc.

Clipy
Alt + tab
Bluesnooze
Change defaults of CSV files and xlsx to excel
Remove unnecessary apps from the dock.
Reduce number of apps in taskbar . You can stop some startup apps. That is some basic stuff which keeps frustration low in my case 😅

Sell it and buy a Windows.
I have tons and tons of them piled up at home. Don't like them personally.
Was thinking of getting a DBrand skin but have to return this if I switch company/get laid off.
Don't like them personally. Bohot pade hai gharpe
Dbrand skin soch raha tha but gotta return this in case I get laid off or i switch company
These are essentials I use daily
→ raycast for spotlight alt. has clipboard history, unit conversion, color conversion, emoji pickers built in
→ shottr for screenshots
→ iterm2 for terminal
→ homebrew as package manager
→ keycastr for showing keystrokes if you do frequent presentations/recordings
→ betterdisplay if you use external monitors
→ rectangle.app if you like to tile windows to left/right of screen
→ velja from sindre if you need browser picker from links
→ also setup text replacements so you can meme
I have xprt mapped to this (also the GNU/Linux pasta LOL)
> I'm not an expert ... But after viewing and analyzing the post from beginning to end, line by line word by word, letter by letter I came to the conclusion and I can say, that I can't say anything because as I said at the beginning, I'm not an expert
Install Rectangle for snapping applications like in windows, fig for terminal auto complete, use brew as package manager, BetterDisplay for getting proper scaling if you have an external display, monitorControl for controlling the brightness for Mac display and external display.
You can also get Android's NearDrop and a tool called "croc" for transferring the files between different machines.

Start using brew.
One real quality of life app is clipboard history, flycut is free.
Other than that setup ur dev env. Get handy with shortcuts, map capslock of ur keyboard to cmd if external. Use multiple desktops to clear clutter. Use iterm2 for terminal.
Why don’t they give MacBook Pro, and why give Air?! I am assuming you are in Software Development
I am a jr developer
Also company is taking every opportunity to increase it's runway i guess
Download Amphetamine, Flycut.
Try out hot corners - set one up to take you to the desktop.
iTerm2 if you're a developer. And make an alias of all commonly used commands in your bash/zsh profile.
