Has Ola completely given up? Are there actual PMs who work there?

I remember there was a time I’d book a ride both on Uber and Ola, there was not so much to separate them.

Ola is messed up now. Extremely poor app (vs Uber), longer waiting times, higher fares

I know they’re focusing a lot on Ola Electric, but how does a company screw over their core business this way

Is this similar for everyone? Anybody who knows what the strategy Ola now is?

Most of the good folks have left the core business, it’s just a cash cow, they have stopped deep discounting, launch of new categories etc.

Even maps and routing is kind of broken. Don’t know what top level strategy is, but making such a business profitable is a huge huge task.

Also, most of the folks in product team leave in 8/12 mos, so no longterm ownership of any projects, it keeps on getting exchanged from one person to another eventually no one is really responsible :/

Afaik, the core business is still negative on unit economics. They have been trying to sell it to uber for some time?

I just use Ola or Rapido. And i dont care about the UI at all. As long as the cab or rickshaw comes. And it does.

I think Bhavish has totally given up on ride hailing. The EV space is his baby. And he’s moved on truly. The core Ola business maybe sold off

Are Ola & Ola E good companies?

With all these EVs catching fire and Ola not being able to turn a profit, Im curious to know if it really is a solid company or just an investor-money marketing hype? I mean most of the folks I know open Ola LAST, if Uber/Rapido/Blusmart...
