How big is BharatPe to fail?

- BharatPe's FY24 revenue surged 39% to INR 1,426 Cr from INR 1,029 Cr in FY23. 
- EBITDA loss, excluding share-based payment expenses, dropped 75% to INR 209 Cr. 
- Pre-tax loss halved to INR 941 Cr from INR 474 Cr in FY23. 
- The fintech unicorn managed to reduce its cash burn by 85% in FY24. 
- BharatPe's lending portfolio saw a 40% YoY growth, primarily catering to merchants.

Their consumer lending app has been pretty much shut for a while and tough competition fused with frequent management diktats seems to indicate that this might be true.

A subsidiary of Paytm, it has been hit by a string of exits in Senior leadership in last 6 months

Head of Mutual Funds: Nisharg Golash, gone
Head of Product: Manish Reddy, gone
Head of Growth: Sourav Choraria, gone
Head of Marketing: Divya Chakravarthy, moved internally
Head of Compliance: Sudhendoo Gandhi, moved internally

This is a result of an increasingly toxic work culture where performers are penalized with more work while slackers make merry. This culture is driven from the top with current senior leadership who haven't left the firm have survived by the virtue of sycophancy.

Instead of firing people, they are being asked to resign so that the company is not in news.

I've personally seen this in co's rev teams, a new CTO has been hired from within Paytm. Employees are given 'negative ratings' in appraisal, which the CEO called 'an HR experiment'.

With ED issuing lookout notice for the founder, is this how Byju's will go down?? Things have not been looking up for the decacorn startup since last year, but with rights issue being fully subscribed, there was hope that things might take a turn for the better.

With EGM this Friday to ouster the CEO and his family from board and ED lookout notice just prior to it, is this the end of the road for the maverick founder??
