Poem 2 | The First Sin
When Adam bit the apple, it wasn't for hunger, But trust—he trusted Eve, loved her beyond God's word, Past the rules of heaven, where hearts grow ever younger, For what is heaven, to the warmth of a woman's love?
What's God, when she stands beside you, asking for faith? The first sin wasn't defiance, but trust, Eve trusted the serpent, Adam trusted Eve, And here I stand, trusting you, like the first dust.
Maybe it's a sin, like the first of many, Maybe they're right—we're sinners, offending God with every breath. But what's divinity, when love speaks louder? What's heaven, compared to this moment, you and I, beneath the quiet skies?
