Always considered SME roles in high regards than management
Technical roles are more rewarding and satisfying. It puts your skills to test and gives a feeling of being in control. Whereas management feels too chaotic, too much dependencies and trying to control areas beyond reach. It feels like constant firefighting whereas technical feels like building something from scratch.
