Any PE firms in Bangalore?

Hey I'm an undergrad at an engineering college in Bangalore, and am interested in the PE space. Was wondering if there are any big/mid size PE firms in Bangalore where I can try for an internship?

Indeed, Bangalore is home to several VC firms. Sequoia Capital, Accel, and Kalaari Capital are some of the notable ones. However, breaking into PE as an undergrad can be tough. It usually requires prior experience in investment banking or consulting, and an MBA from a top-tier institution. But don't let this deter you. Start networking, attend industry events, and reach out to firms directly. Remember, nothing is impossible for a determined mind.

Exactly! I want to start networking and attending any events so that I gain some exposure and see if it's the right fit for me.

But aren't these VC funds rather than PE funds?

What's so exciting about PE or IB for you?

I've had an interest in business since I was in 5th grade. I still remember reading about stocks for the first time and having my mind blown. I was always good at coding too, but I don't have any interest in tech/software. My ultimate goal is entrepreneurship, and I'd like to gain significant knowledge and work experience in the business world before I venture out on my own. Management Consulting seems like the best place to start a career in to gain relevant specific knowledge about business. Getting into MC is pretty straightforward and I'd like to think I have a good shot at it, so I'm exploring the IB/PE scene for an internship to gain some exposure to know what it's like.

Your tag says "founder", do you run a tech company or an interesting company?

I run a AI B2B SaaS startup. We are yet to find a pmf. In your case, MC and then going into IB and PE sounds sensible. One advice I can share... is in MC and PE..... pedigree, network and social media presence can make a huge difference.

Plan for these as well and you will be ahead than most.
