Application to Google, Ended up in rejection
I have around 4 years of experience in non-tech roles- Operations, PM. Recently, I came across a few non tech, entry-level roles at Google that required just 2 years of experience. I felt hopeful, maybe this is my shot. I worked on making my resume ATS friendly, tailored it carefully to the job descriptions, and was lucky to receive referrals through some professionals on LinkedIn.
But even with that, my application was rejected. Not by Google HR directly, but by the external recruiting partner managing applications for them. I didn’t even make it to a phone screening.
It’s disheartening. I started wondering, Did I do something wrong? Was my profile not good enough? I understand there are thousands of applications, and hiring is tough. But when your dream to work in google gets cut short at the very first stage, it stings a little deeper.
I cant help but think like, if it were Google’s internal HR reviewing my profile, maybe I would’ve had a slightly better chance, atleast for a a phone screening. But every time I apply, the rejection comes from the external recruiting partner. Is this the standard practice for non-tech roles?

There are lakhs of applications these days. It's tough. Don't get disheartened

Yeah. Right

Hey @ShadyDerivation79 would it be possible for you to refer me for a few roles? I'd really appreciate it!

I want job

All recruiting in India for Google is through the same HR agency. And yes the shortlisting is a little weird off. Even googlers confirm the same

Oh really?? Thats sad. Now i feels like its more of a luck to get a phone screening.
