Three years back, i did this social experiment. I had 30% in debt and 70% in equities. My projection was ,I will survive for another 5 years without any earning and let me pursue my passion. But once your money started diminishing fast, your level of confidence goes on toss. Within 7-8 months, I started earning again. All these calculations doesn’t work till the time every month you clock atleast something in your account. Fixed steady income is must for early retirement. It may be rental income or some other side income.

I agree. Last year, on paper I had 1 year of funds but by 4th month the anxiety kicked in bad.

You should’ve targeted a specific age group in your question @BiryaniEnthu.
I’m heavily invested in real estate and equities and won’t be able to go beyond 2 months without liquidation my assets.
But even if I stop investing today, my net worth will easily surpass $1 million in next 15 years.

Agreed but I see a lot of younger gen planned well on funds while older are still struggling. It was something I wasn't expecting

I find it so hard to spend on myself

I come from a poor background, but somehow I worked extremely hard and now I earn decently well (above 60 LPA cash).

My problem is- I don’t mind spending on others. In fact I don’t even think twice before taking my card out and buy...
