Bangalore’s Garbage Collection Woes
Hi everyone, is anyone else struggling with garbage collection in Bangalore? I came across a roadside sign saying "don't throw waste," but I haven’t seen a trash can within a 3km radius of that area. The situation is frustrating — garbage collection happens only twice a week, and the schedule keeps changing. Worse, they don’t even cover every street. It's not practical to store trash and wait endlessly. With all the ongoing construction already contributing to pollution, this inconsistent garbage collection is making things worse. The least authorities could do is place large bins on every street so people have a proper place to dispose of waste. Otherwise, our roadsides will continue to look like dumping grounds.

Garbage piling up, changing schedules, zero bins — all minor inconveniences. The real emergency is making sure every hoarding has the legally mandated Kannada percentage. Because language on a board definitely smells better than rotting trash.

In my area the guy comes randomly. And if we do not hand it over to him, he won't take it. I have told him many times, that I keep nearr the gate, he can pick it up if am not at home. But he won't. I went to the place where all the vehicles are parked and threw it into one of the vehicles. The guy came fighting with me saying I should give it only to the vehicle that comes to my street. Once I went to the segregation area to drop it there. That fucker refused it, saying I have to give it only to the guy who come in that small van.
Got tired and now I just throw wherever I want. It's easier, time saving. Any way this country is going to the dogs, why should I work hard.
