13Lakh people applied for the UPSC exam in 2013. This is a number thats higher than the population of many countries. This is not just a big vote bank, but also a significant economy that run around this UPSC. Not to mention the significant caste equations that roll up into this madness. A simple EWS reservation was enough to become a political hot cake. Political parties benefit in fanning this fire rather than curtailing it.
SO UPSC will never go. Until one of these babus do something extraordinarily stupid that makes politicians supporting them look bad and loose vote.
