Should I lower my salary expectation while applying for a new job? Can it become a reason of rejecting candidature?
I am open to discussion and negotiation, but I don’t want my application to get rejected. I’ve mentioned 60% hike.
I am interested in a company but the salary range is a little low.
Should I apply and ask the recruiter for a salary increase? (The salary range is the same as what I am currently earning so it doesn't make sense for me to switch for the same salary).
PS: I can easily make it into the role.
What are the other factors you are looking for - are you optimizing for money or other stuff ?
If other stuff, are you okay with same salary? Then maybe yes.
If for money, sure do ask for more money.
It would be a waste for recruiter too if you won't be joining. You can clear the salary aspect. This is according to your situation. In other situation, this might not be the case.
But I hope it's ok to ask more than what has been mentioned in the JD right?
Ofcourse. You know the range upfront but it will clarify whether they are willing to increase salary for you. It's not like you are burning bridges.
You can definitely ask more. If they think you are really good and fit the role perfectly, they will think of going beyond their budget. Let's say they did not, it would not mean that you are not a good fit. It just means they have tight budget. So if you think the role would help you learn and upskill significantly then you can take the job at the offered CTC. The skills will help you get more salary in future.

I was recently transferred from one role (non-tech) to another (non-tech) within the organisation. I'm a fresher. Do you guys suggest that I ask for a salary hike?
I have an offer from a company. The team/work is not that great. Can I apply for a different opening in the same company? Btw it's a big sized company. Please let me know
