Can someone please tell me why?

I am looking out for a change of job. I’m a senior iOS dev. Have applied for plethora of openings on LinkedIn, Naukri. I realize I’m not getting interviews as much.

I ain’t blindly applying . I apply for only those openings which suit my experience.

Why does this happen. Any suggestions to make things more optimal ?

I experienced the same problem before. I suspect two reasons.

  1. Each job opening is mapped with certain keywords. Depending on the number of of such matching keywords in a resume you profile gets highlighted to the top. The chances of getting selected Depends on the number of candidates. It's impossible for a HR to open each resume and read.
  2. Most jobs are simply posted to maintain a resume bank. Meaning there is no actual hiring just ghost jobs

Okay. Is there any way to fix this? Coz I tailor my resume for each opening I apply for.
