Data scientist vs machine learning engineer for ai tech

I'm super curious about what a data scientist actually does every day. I know they work with data, but what does that really mean? Are they diving deep into AI stuff like computer vision, NLP, and neural networks? Or is that more for machine learning engineers?

I'm wondering if the data scientist role is a good way to get into AI tech, especially if you're thinking about maybe starting a startup one day. Should I aim for being a data scientist or a machine learning engineer to get into these advanced fields?
