Family Trip Advice - Singapore, Bali

Hey all,

I am planning a family trip in July end with family. We are planning to go to both Singapore and Bali, not sure about both. I have a couple of questions.

  • Should I do currency exchange in India or in Singapore/Bali.
  • Is it the best time to visit Singapore/Bali.
  • What might be the best route to visit them? From Delhi to Singapore then Bali, then back to Delhi or from Delhi to Bali and then in return visit Singapore
  • Best hotels to stay and places to visit

It would be really helpful if someone could help me with the same.

Currency exchange: honestly I just paid with my credit/debit card everywhere

Although if you want to exchange, get it done from a trustworthy shop anywhere

July end - I think Singapore weather sucks all year round. Bali should be fine. Check once. As long as it’s not raining heavily everyday, you’re fine. Forecasts are good.

Delhi to Singapore to Bali is how I would do it

Hotels are budget dependent ;)

Been to both places and did it with luxury (nothing below 4 star, didn’t compromise on cheap flights). If you have kids - Bali is boring unless your family loves water sports, relaxing on beach / resort life. At best you can stay a few nights at Ubud / then spend a few nights in seminayak. We also stayed at Jimbaran (Ayana resorts) - popular Rock bar .

Singapore is great fun for all - be it universal, sentosa island, Singapore zoo, great nightlife, food, casino, pubs and shopping at orchard
Stayed at Jen by Shangri La and Holiday Inn clark quay.

Singapore I used my credit card everywhere . Bali did carry a bit of cash.

Avoid Dec for rains.
