Filing ITR

Hi community, really love the support I get from folks here. Thanks a lot. Here is another thing I need some opinions on.

I did an internship last year and there was some TDS deducted. That was my only source of main income. I checked the Form26AS and yes it was present along with some TDS on my MF investment and all.

Now this is my first time filing ITR, how should I go approach?

Get a CA? If yes, how to contact one? How much do they usually charge?

File by myself?

Or any tips you have would be really appreciated. You can also share your experience.

Thank you 😊.

TDS deducted will likely be a small amount of professional tax.

Depending on what bracket you fall under based on your total income between April 2022 and March 2023, the pre-filled value on the ITR form will be correct, since you did not have another source of income.

Don't sweat, just verify the form, and submit by yourself. CAs are more useful if you have multiple sources of income.

Did you get internship few more than 7.5 lacs 👍 why wouldy they deducted if it's less than 7.5 lacs they might have considered you as consultant and check TDS section in the 26As if it's under 194J it's a professional income where you can claim expenses and show 8 % min profit and file the tax return. It not same tax return what employees files . If they have deducted under 192 B then it's salary income where you can get some income tax exemption under 80C (old scheme) and get the refund TDS what they have deducted.
