Foxconn Begins iPhone 16 Pro, Pro Max Production in India; Costs Fall 10%

• Apple Inc is set to commence production of its high-end iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models in India, a year after introducing India-made iPhone 15 models.
• The production in India is expected to bring down costs for the smartphone manufacturer by 10 per cent, but retail prices may remain the same due to taxes and component costs.
• This marks the first time premium iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max devices will be assembled outside China, as part of Apple's attempt to reduce reliance on its traditional manufacturing hub amid geopolitical tensions.
• Foxconn, one of Apple’s primary manufacturing partners, is gearing up to produce the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max at its facility in Tamil Nadu, with other partners like Pegatron and the Tata Group also involved.
• Despite local assembly, the majority of the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max units produced in India will be exported to markets such as Europe, the West Asia, and the United States.
