I just received a call from someone claiming he's from the bank I hold an account. Apparently, he knew the branch where it is located. This was the conversation:
Fraud : Mam apka account close ho jaega, PAN(in his accent it was 'pain') activated nahi hai na. Me: Theek hai, kardo, koi baat nahi. Fraud: Mam, me apke he branch se baat kar raha hun, counter no. 2 (Me trying to stop my laugh 😂) Me: Oh acha, theek hai. Fraud: Mam, account block kar de raha hun, fir ye kabhi open nhi hoga. Me: Arey, acha thik hai kardo, me branch aake PAN activate kar lungi. Fraud: Nahi Mam, ye sirf online he hoga, kahin koi branch se nhi hoga. Aap abhi PAN bata do, me kardunga. Me: Acha, koi baat nahi, block kar do. Fraud: Lekin Mam, reason to bataiye block karne ke liye ( I am Still laughing at this statement 🤣) Me: Arey reason to aapne he bataya, ki PAN activated nhi hai. Fraud: Han to abhi karwa lijiye, me kar dunga. Aap PAN bataiye. Me: Arey koi na, band kardo, baad me dekhenge Fraud: Thik hai kardeta hun, saare funds "Government account" me transfer hojaenge. ME: Han krdo. Then he drops the call out of frustration.
I got a call saying my bank account will be closed because of lack of KYC verification. I asked him which particular bank was he calling from. He got angry and started shouting at me - "You don't even know in which bank your account exists". 😂 It was hilarious. 😂
I get many similar calls, claiming to be related to bank account closure, old insurance policy reactivation, winning some prize or lottery, outstanding tax payments, etc.
I always listen to their stories for amusement, and then tell them that I'm not interested in their fake scam, but that I was listening to their story for fun. That always pisses them off, and they generally curse and hang-up. It's always entertaining listening to their new schemes and stories. 😂
Yes, earlier I used to hang up these calls but now I talk to them 😂
I get emails from RAW India(atleast that's what they say) that my network is used to supply child pornography, then they go into depth how they can track all these with technology network interception blah, blah, blah.... and how it took 3-4 intelligence agencies to crack my system, and I have to reply to their email to levied these charges and to negotiate further.
