Didn't really understand the reason for adding the streak here.
- There's really no friction to get a streak. You just scroll to the bottom and you are done for the day.
- Didn't feel any motivation or connect when compared to what Duolingo or any other gamification app does. I'm reading the news, then what. Maybe a quiz can be added and a leaderboard can be introduced. Now I don't know what to do with this streak as there isn't any abstract or visible motivation.

It's a beginning for many of us who have left reading news since school. Reading min 15 news articles is a big thing for some.
Good habits should have tracker
All added features can come in later

I kinda agree. Maybe they want to increase their feature adoption so they came up with a very basic gamification solution.
I don’t see reason for adding streaks other than that.

Not much interested in news streak count as sometimes not following news daily is a great source of mental peace and more focused work and person life.
@NewsAnchor please weed weekly-monthly digest newsletter or something called in case you missed it. Not every news should be breaking news and require to know on the same day and if I come back after few days then I don’t want to scroll to all the news cards but only the most important ones based on my interests. @Micheal_Scott
