How is upstox for developers?
Applied through instahyre, got instant message but with lay offs going on and startups taking on VC funding, do you think it's a good place to work?
In startups I have been people just care about getting it done and not getting it done correctly and pushing shit if it breaks just to get off the hooks.
Is it like this? Which companies are like zerodha in terms of developing stuff while looking at the bigger picture?
Hello there, Management/founders lacks direction, so focus keeps on changing every month. You will be jumping across teams to get projects out of the door every few weeks. This leads to devs working over weekends more often than not. There have been a lot of exits in engg due to the culture the current CTO has brought onboard. Read reviews on Glassdoor and AmbitionBox. The only good thing was the founders said upfront that they will not do layoffs and it looks highly unlikely. We are actually hiring. About 20 devs are on contract from a Ukraine based company. We have continued to work with them and provided support to them during the war despite their availability uncertain many times and which leads to delay in feature releases.
Overall : No WLB; You will learn a lot in short time; Will get frustrated by the CTOs antics.
Hmmm, I guess this is the story of every VC backed startup. Even mine doesn't have WLB
