How to get rid of spam calls and messages?

I have been using the same phone number for more than 15 years and I’m getting a minimum of 7-8 calls everyday from financial services, charity, insurance etc. I’ve never made any loan inquiries. Also enabled DND from the day I remember. However, this keeps me bothering. Any hacks to get rid of these spammers?

I have more than 800 numbers in my block list…. But still…

I had a credit card. So credit card company keeps calling me everyday to upgrade and God knows what more.
So one day out of anger i said agr abki baar phone aaya to jo credit card chalu wo bhi band kr dunga. From that day onwards they call me in 6 months or so and I say the same words again and again 😂

Haha, somehow it didn’t work for me. The best thing worked out for me is the DND mention and flawlessly complaining their number. I don’t know how many numbers I have reported, xD, but these calls never stop. Nowadays, bots are calling 😂

Get Android phone. Get Truecaller. Block all calls not in the phone book. Do this for a month. All callers will find your number unresponsive and remove you from calling lists.

If you are expecting unknown calls like Swiggy/Zomato/Amazon, unblock momentarily!

@majboormajdoor BTW I recently realised their app on IOS has increase through a roof, I was an android user once and when I made the switch I really missed the truecaller app, but looks like they have been listening and make gradual improvements, really happy with identifying at least 50-60% of the calls which are spam

Avoid giving it on retail shops, restaurants etc. The calls have been reduced drastically after this

I can’t remember giving numbers to shopping malls, restaurants etc, at worst times, I would share my email, and hesitant to share my number.

I hear you bro, it’s horrible to be called in the middle of a tensed meeting and finding out it was just a recorded message for investment or credit card sellers. Truecaller helps here, though at the cost of your privacy to some extent. Keep reporting the numbers as spam on Truecaller, and it keeps getting better.

Agree 💯, it’s irritating 😠, I tell these folks to delete my number from their calling list, but I don’t think they do. 😅

I had a question something on this line, I have been using one number since many years but someone in Bihar has given my number for his NBFC a/c, LPG booking, Electricity.
I wrote email & also raised complaint in the respective websites to remove my number but in vain.
Any solution will be highly appreciated.

Use Truecaller. It might be annoying but gets the job done. Don't give out your number at restaurants, shops etc. Made this mistake and learnt from it. If app based survey forms don't have an option to skip phone number just enter a random number. Hard to avoid spam esp. when it's a number you've owned from a long time.
