How to improve English communication

Which platforms/means you use or used for improving your English speaking skills because as far as I know English is the go to language for communications in business organizations.

Which platforms would you recommend for practicing speaking skills? I have used Duolingo but I felt like it's kinda basic and is made for school kids.

Join Toastmasters.

I didn't believe it worked till I saw someone in my team who'd schooled back in his village in the vernacular medium with a heavy mother tongue influence in his english + limited vocabulary join them.

He kills it now in presenting to large audiences. Took ~3 years of hardwork but the transformation was dramatic.

  1. Consume quality english content: Read blogs, articles, esteemed news media, books(both fiction non fiction, whatever interests you the most), watch english videos (YouTube helped me. Believe it or not)

  2. Use English in day to day language (most important): Use it whenever possible. Cafe, restaurants, malls, social media, whatsapp audio notes, random conversations with known & close people. Keep a journal and write one page in english everyday. Read english newspaper loudly, mark new words, learn it, repeat.

I don't think you can force yourself into learning a language. Assuming you have basic understanding and lack confident to effectively communicate in English, using it daily would help you a lot.

Start with gradually reducing non english movies/media otherwise won't be able to keep grasp on the other language, if possible talk to people who don't know your primary language, our college (north India) had guys from andhra/tn they instilled use of english in classroom.
