I recently visited Hyderabad with my friends. The city has good roads, great places to visit and really amazing food. Well the traffic was a headache but still it was okay. The main problem was the recklessness of the people driving, be it two wheelers, auto, car or bus.
Maybe it’s something we are new to, since I haven’t seen this much rash driving. People driving don’t care about the rules at all, like turning without the indicators or honking, I saw a person driving a bike using one hand while scrolling instagram on the other, while another person holding a baby with one hand while driving the bike.
Many times there were instances the other vehicles were going to crash into ours and one time it actually did. We actually used Uber to navigate and one of our drivers even told me not to put on the seat belt because it’s Hyderabad and there are no issues if you don’t.
Also the traffic police don’t seem to care at all, people just barge into the wrong sides with their vehicles and put others in danger.
For a great city like Hyderabad, I think this mindset of the people when driving is something that needs to change.
