I have been issued form 16A from mphasis without actually receiving salary.

Hi all,

I had joined Mphasis and just only attended virtual on boarding and left the job as they fell back on promise they made. I had not received any salary for that. Just before tax paying date, I received form 16 saying I was paid salary and had to pay tax on that. In reality I never received any money from them. I mailed to HR help desk multiple times, I never received any resolution. What should be my next step.

My issue is that I had to show that as income and pay tax on it. Is there a option to raise this issue with IT dept.

Check tax credit statement (26AS) on ITR portal, if there is no entry, i don’t think there is anything to worry about. You can just ignore it.
