Infosys Consulting

Dear Grapeviners,

This question is for anyone who has worked with or is working with Infosys Consulting.

What are some of the unique infosys issues that I must be aware of before joining?

I am looking to understand if there are any specific things that happens at Infosys Consulting that may shock me in terms of culture and behaviour.

What are some of the general things that I must be aware of before joining Infosys Consulting?

I am asking this as I have majorly worked with clients like foreign based international MNC like Microsoft. And in terms of culture and leadership. I had a great experience. I am little concern what would be the acceptable culture and behaviour at Infosys consulting.

Do you live in some other world? Or do you like to live under delusions?

I have been in the industry long enough to know there are always pros and cons to every organisation. I am simply asking for the ground reality. So, that I can better prepare myself.

To simply put I like to be in control of things and not let things shock me. Rather than cribbing later on I shall prepare beforehand.

Looks like you are not that kind of person.

It's called doing homework, if the author is aware, he could plan and deal with it or rather find other options if it won't be manageable at all. I know Infosys has made our minds to believe the toxicity is normal but don't force it on others.

There is no categories like casual leaves , sick leaves everything is under Earned leave . If we need to take leaves without loss of pay EL needs to be applied . This is something new to me compared to TCS which i was not aware before joining infy

Go ahead and tell me the reasons. I have experience with both big 4 and MBB. I have seen the worse. How bad it can be.

For consulting don't join infy try to switch 1 Yr accenture consulting or deloitte or big4 or Mbb are better but you can stay here for home city or any other or if you hate travelling. Hike is less.

It is just the hike and promotion problem? Or there are other issues as well?

Bro. Just to give one cent my side u might get salary increment after 2/3 years.

Variable pay differ quarter wise and based on your unit performance.

If you lucky u will get good manager who will support u else life will suck.

Flexibility in terms of working hours are there and 10 day wfo mandatory policy. Some manager call there people 3 days a week and some do not bother at all u can do 10 days in one go.

Thank you, bro. That was helpful.

May I know what percentage of variable pay I can expect on average?

Is variable pay paid on a quarterly basis?

What do you mean by flexibility in terms of working hours? Are you referring to work-life balance? I assume there are standard work timings, or does it depend on the project?

You would be surprised by how much Infosys Consulting isn't consulting at all. On the flip side, if you want to lay low for a couple of years in staff aug. roles without real responsibility (read: scrum master) while you get your personal life on track, it's a good place to be. There is nothing like IC culture (even though they try to impress otherwise); rather you adopt the client culture once in a project.

Thanks for your input. I understand even though it's consulting but it may not actually be consulting in terms of work. In my observation it's the case everywhere.

But in my experiences if you are in the industry of your choice. You still get to learn something useful once in a while. If you stay long enough I guess.

Here I can see people are commenting about Infosys Ltd. To these high IQ folks Infosys Consulting is a separate organization and its salary STRUCTURE and culture is completely different from Infosys Ltd.
