Interview prep for Big tech

Hi, I recently started preparing for my first job switch. I work as a backend dev at a startup and Node.js is what we use across all our microservices.

But all the job openings for big companies, however, require Java / Golang skills.

My question is - Is it okay if I learn these languages on my own, build some projects and then apply?

I did some DSA in college using Java so thinking of going the Java route for preparing for LLD, DSA. Is this fine or do you guys have any other suggestions?

Any advice would be helpful

Thanks in advance!
