Is not having Instagram a red flag when it comes to dating?

As the title says - genuinely curious. I can see why this might be the case. People require some sort of social validation. But many dating platforms today have verification tools to prove that you are who you say you are.

Besides proving you're a genuine person, what else does having an instagram offer? Mutuals? For someone like me who never posts, I don't see it giving another person any insight at all.

I've had 4 people match with me this past week, agree to meet, ask me for my social and then ghost me when I said I didn't have an instagram.

I do have a LinkedIn - although I'd rather not give that out to someone I'm meeting for the first time. But it's an open platform, and they're free to look me up.

I do use X as well, which i don't mind sharing, but it's mostly me just shitposting and complaining lol

I usually try and look up if they have a Twitter profile. Gives me a clear picture of their toxicity levels and the good for nothing values they fight for. Also shows how dumb they can be. I can even tolerate cringe (Instagram) but not someone who is toxic and is constantly fighting over something on Twitter consumed by hate.

The thing about red flags is, if someone keeps looking for them, they'll eventually find one no matter how small or big it maybe be.
I just can't get with the parlance either, shipping, all these flags, benching, soft launch.
Plus, Instagram is just a video consumption platform at this point. If not being a doomscroller is a red flag, then you've certainly dodged some bullets.

100% agree, honestly it's one of the reasons i quit. GV hardly gives me a reason to comeback and in a way I think that's a good thing 😂

My ex's love language was sending reels.
She'd get actual mad, and start fights when I didn't check them. Like as if I didn't have enough shit going on, now I have to fake laugh at a bunch of scripted internet humour that isn't even funny.
