IT Industry- High Risk High Return???

Hello All I have a question

My friends are in IT industry I am a CA.

I have seen IT folks get crazy salaries...

I wanted to understood Generally the salary negotiations in the beginning of IT career is upto 100% or even more

Does this keep continuing till the end of the career?

And do everyone in IT get this much salary or is it only the cream layer?

Thank you

Only 15-20 % of IT population gets the kind of salaries you are referring to. You need to remember that majority of IT Jobs are in Service based companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro etc- those companies still pay very average salary.

Just like any other industry, including post MBA salaries, your second last sentence is valid.

No, it doesn't. Infact we are going to see many mid-40 folks being removed from it roles, as the work/salary gets saturated.

It's better to move into management roles as we age. Mostly, the rsu component increases while salary being more or less the same.
