IT Industry- High Risk High Return???

Hello All I have a question

My friends are in IT industry I am a CA.

I have seen IT folks get crazy salaries...

I wanted to understood Generally the salary negotiations in the beginning of IT career is upto 100% or even more

Does this keep continuing till the end of the career?

And do everyone in IT get this much salary or is it only the cream layer?

Only 15-20 % of IT population gets the kind of salaries you are referring to. You need to remember that majority of IT Jobs are in Service based companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro etc- those companies still pay very average salary.

No, it doesn't. Infact we are going to see many mid-40 folks being removed from it roles, as the work/salary gets saturated.

It's better to move into management roles as we age. Mostly, the rsu component increases while salary being more or less the same.
