The solution is to tax people having farm income of more than 15 laks per year. How does this solve the water crisis?. Political parties will not be inclined to pamper them with freebies. There is a big chunk of people today having more money than salaried employees but not paying any income tax. This is the money that flows into cities inthe form of real estate. Since the real estate lobby is predominantly controlled by bureaucrats and politicians they promote people to move to cities and want more people in cities. So real estate continues to remain a black money sink.
When farm income is taxed, it would make them on par with businesses. So big farm owners will pay labourers more money to reduce their taxable income. They might get it back from the poor people like in certain government schemes. This would stem the movement of people's migration to cities. Less people in cities more water available to use.

Desalination plant, water harvesting these follow the same logic of adding an extra lane will reduce the traffic jams.

Fuck man. This is awful for everyone in Bangalore.
Past and current Governments should be accountable for not preparing for such a situation beforehand. Can't believe we are trying to make a mark as a developed nation but not able to find solutions to some basic problems in the country.
