Just Sharing My Journey: Three Years in, Still Hoping for a Decent Life
I've been working at Persistent for 3 years, joined as a fresher with a 15k salary after my BCS. I’m a DevOps engineer, working on cloud, Kubernetes, and CI/CD. Now, after 3 years, my in-hand is 30k—matching what freshers earn today. Education still seems to matter, but I’m not sure how much.
I’m the only breadwinner in my family since my father passed away during COVID. We have a farm, but it barely brings in 5k a month. Responsibilities are on me. I’ve tried everything to increase my salary—worked hard to got great client feedback, however got good feedback but in return got reward with a 2.5k coupon. Started a mail thread to normalize my salary, just asking for what an average employee here gets. Didn’t work.
Still looking for other opportunities, updating my Naukri profile daily, sending cold emails—still no luck. I just want a decent life, nothing fancy. Not comparing myself to folks flaunting 20-30 LPA with 2-3 years of experience. I haven’t achieved much, but I haven’t lost hope either.
