Layoff

From my last poll, good amount ppl were in senior management, who might have faced this once in their life and ended up in one of the following situation, I might get promoted to a leadership role, God forbid If I end up in this situation how do I handle.

Few cases I want to outline

1. Company messed up and I am just the messenger
2. I messed up and I want to save my own skin, I would rather own and resign but you never know, depending on situations ppl throw others under the bus.
3. The employee messed up big time and there is no turning around the things.
4. All good but there is no growth for the employee to grow further and have to inform, this place might not provide you the runway, to grow further start looking out.

Point 2, I don't think I will end up doing it, but can't comment office politics might influence me as I scale up in my role and I might end up doing things which are not aligned to my ethics and principles
