Mid stage startups/FANG

Hi all,

I am currently working in a startup as an SDE2 with 3 YOE, and thinking to switch to something good. Good in terms of both money and learning. Learning was exponential when I joined here, but now it doesn’t feel like. Should I look for some mid stage startups or FANG? I heard that FANG does not pay you much as startups. Help me with some pros and cons.

In my opinion, if you're feeling stagnant, a change is necessary. FANG companies, contrary to popular belief, do pay well but the work can be monotonous. Startups, however, offer dynamic roles but with risk. My advice? Gauge your risk appetite. If you're up for a challenge, go for a startup. If stability is your priority, choose FANG. Remember, it's your career, make it count.

+1. Back during my startup days I complained that my boat was always rocking and it was difficult to maintain balance. After coming to AMZN its like boat is completely stuck yet I got no rest always being whipped to move it inch by inch. . At least rocking boat was adding some thrill in life.

All mid stage startups are Scam. Offers to shitty Esops and add no value to career growth. Go for Faang. this tags will always help in the longer run. I know excellent developers making 2 lakhs a months and working 12 hours and no Wlb. I also know faang folks working 6 hours making 4 lakhs a month and enjoying life.
