Need advice on investing

I am pretty new to the investing and have invested in some mutual funds and nifty till now since I was having other responsibilities to fulfill. Now I want to start saving for my retirement but don't know how to start? How do you guys figure where to invest and how much. Can anyone please guide me I feel like I can't just google good mutual funds and invest in them, right? Also is it worth taking the subscription of smallcase ?
