Need advice to switch from SAP!!

I am an SAP ABAP Developer for past 2.9 years but I feel that ABAP is unnecessarily overly complicated. I tried my best to learn and be good at it but I feel that the open source tech stacks are much better and simpler…I might be wrong but that’s just how I feel.

So coming to my problem…I have recently joined Infosys as an sap ABAP developer but I want to switch my career path to web development by learning MERN stack, system design, DSA and so on but I am not able to find enough time to practice web dev while continuing my job because my manager has put me into 2 different trainings simultaneously moreover there’s a lot of work pressure to meet deadlines and I don’t have that much knowledge on SAP so I have to keep learning stuff about my day to day work and after work I have to study for web dev. I am really confused as to what to do!! How do I find time to study when my work keeps me occupied almost all the time. Should I resign and prepare hard in the 3 months that i get as notice period!? But that would be taking a big risk as I am new to this domain and I have financial dependencies on me as well. Or can I ask my manager to release me from this project and utilise the time while I’ll be on bench !? It’s getting really difficult trying to understand SAP along with MERN…

Every day at work feels suffocating as I have to learn what I don’t wanna pursue and because of that I am unable to find time for what I actually wanna do. I have no idea what to do so if anyone can suggest something it’d be really helpful!!

Totally understand you. Working at SAP I know how complex SAP software is to understand. You can talk to your manager asking for sometime every week to study about SAP. In that time rather than studying for it you would just focus on your MERN stack. I know the corporate world is harsh but you need to play with them smartly.
