Offer letter or Resignation? What's first?

Do I get offer letter from new company then tell my manager to resign and talk about early release? Or do I resign then get offer letter? Because offer letter will contain date of joining right? I'll have to talk to manager regarding early release then my DOJ will change?

Give an approximate date and get the offer letter first. Never make the mistake of resigning before getting the offer letter. HRs will be open to change the joining date if you have certain reasons.

Okay, I will give joining date of after 60 days for initial offer letter then. And will say I'll resign and get approval for early release, if I get it give me new offer letter.
