Planning a Family Trip to Japan - Help a Newbie Out! 🇯🇵
Hey everyone,
Been dreaming of taking the wife and kid on a trip for ages, and Japan has always been our dream destination. We're thinking about going sometime in October or November this year for a week-long adventure.
This is our first international trip ever,Should we go with a travel package or try to plan everything ourselves?
We're also on a budget, so any tips on keeping things affordable in Japan would be a lifesaver! Speaking of budgets, does anyone have a rough estimate of how much a trip to Japan for a family of three (including flights!) might cost?

Hello OP!
Stayed in Japan for a while, Stay is going to be really expensive considering you’re going with your family (and would need a basic-good room).
-Commute is manageable wrt expenses
-Get down in Haneda airport as it is closer to Tokyo
-Google maps is reliable, but not precise.
-You’ll have to walk a lot! Please make sure you get a really good-comfy shoes
-Always carry a bag for disposal of waste, Japan does not have dustbin-concept.
Would be able to estimate expenses for you If you have any itinerary in mind, which places you’d like to visit etc.
Roughly speaking, Hotel stay would be around 5-6k per day according to location (but very basic rooms).

-Take Metro/subways instead of cabs. Cabs are super expensive

@RealKeeper57 for now Tokyo, Kyoto and Mount Fuji... But I can change destination according to time and money,, I want to travel both city and country side.

Have you been to Japan before?

Nope it's our first international trip

Japan gets pretty expensive, what's your budget like

I would strongly suggest YouTube for research. I've been to 34 countries and TBH YouTube + maps were a lifesaver. It has advices for everyone and eveu budget. For example: during college it helped me travel on a budget since I was interning and funds were not too high. Now I travel in luxury so I plan accordingly. Couple of YouTube videos and you exactly know what to do. Never been disappointed
