Rant: Frustrated with the way people eat biryani
We cherish our Friday Biryani sessions at the office. The biryani served is top of the class, and no one is absent for that.
However, there's a tiny aspect that adds a bit of frustration. It's the unique way some of my colleagues choose to eat their biryani—with their hands, crafting rice balls as they go. While I appreciate the enthusiasm for the meal, it's a bit of a turn-off for me.
I'm contemplating a way to address this without coming across as a party pooper. Is there a tactful and light-hearted way to suggest that perhaps eating biryani with hands, Indian street-food style, might not be the most common practice in our office culture?
Looking forward to suggestions!

I dont see any meat there. Please call it pulao

It is tehri 😂
Pulao and Biryani are different, pulao is where rice is cooked after the spices are done in the same vessel, from 0 to 100. Biryani is when you half cook the rice, and half cook the spices and then layer them. Biryani is better when cooked over small flame for long time. It's more of a category than a dish.

Get a life, dude. How and what people eat should be the least of your concerns. Eating biryani with hands is an emotion, which you clearly don't seem to get. Live and let live ✌️

Eating biryani with your hand is much better than with a spoon. Just keep your nails trimmed and wash your hands and no problems

Looks like some britisher left their kid in 1947

I also don't like to touch the food with bare hands while eating. But let them be. Let them enjoy.
Using cutlery is important for hygiene. That is the whole purpose of cutlery. It is a choice though and you can turn your head around if you don't like. Find a way to be okay with it.

While i respect the way you put your opinion forward, cutlery!=hygiene. As long as i am not touching the food from the common bowl with my hand or the common ladel with my right hand, my hygiene is just as good as anyone.

I don't want to get into debate here friend. Point being east uses chopsticks, west uses spoon - %age population that doesn't touch food with bare hand would likely be higher (for food like biryani).
No amount of debate can convince me that eating food with bare hands is more hygienic. Eatings cake, pastry, rice, curry etc via spoon is more hygienic. Also, imagine being watched by ridiculed eyes abroad or in a white collar gathering when using hands. You don't wanna standout like that. Let me know would you eat via hands or use a spoon in such a situation.
It icks me see people use their hand but I keep it to myself and not make any fuss about it. I think i am being fair to everyone.

Looks like you have a lot to learn. This isn't even the tip of iceberg!
