Resignation within 3 months

Hi All,

Please share your experience if you have resigned ever within 3months (or upto 6 months) of taking the job ?

If Yes, what compelled you to? And how did it affect the further job search ?

No I left deloitte long ago. I'm talking about a new consulting firm that I haven't yet disclosed. They were great. But you'd only realize it, once you have left

Back in 2019 , I was in same position where I resigned from a company within 3 months after joining it from a campus placement.

  1. What compelled - I was in that state where I want to explore more options other than software engineering which can only pay my bills nicely as software job does. I did explore and survived without pay check for a 2 years. However, I went back to Software job just because of certain circumstances and I do learnt a lot in the process of this uncertainty and without paycheck which is really helpful to me now.

  2. How did it affect job search - You are 200% going to get ghosted by Indian recruiter while searching and getting back to job search. They will probably ask you more about compay loyalty, switching, and every single thing present on this earth which doesn't have any relation with the job you are applying for. So be ready to tackle that!

Resigned from a fuckall early stage startup with an abusive ceo 4 months after joining. My breaking point was a) him demanding I attend calls when I was down with really bad covid and b) asking me to lie about customer numbers on an investor call. I just decided I’ve had enough and I quit. It was scary because well, covid. No one knew what the market will look like next month. Scored a sweet gig at a unicorn instead. Best decision of my life.

This behavior stems from the belief that you own the employees life just cos you pay salary. Unfortunately sad reality 😞

Joined a company out of campus. Switched after 2 months since I was actively applying. I don’t show the first company in my resume. I was hardly there for 2 months. In BGV I’ll put it though
