Snakes and ladders

Dear Viners, I don't want to go to work every morning. The reason is I have to work with snakes. There are old snakes and there are new snakes and they have a code of conduct which I can't seem to crack. The older snakes smile and chat and do make it a point to ask how can I help you, but they don't share any meaningful information and not a single one of them follow up to ask how am I doing (i have no expectations as well) . The younger ones pretend to be busy on calls and important assignments, and are generally slithering around the older snakes who reward them with the best ladders. The younger snakes also constantly puff themselves up to look bigger and show their fangs, and some are always on a lookout to hang me upside down. Unfortunately I don't know how to turn into a snake and hence haven't found any ladder. Can any snakes advise how to deal with snakes?
