I mean already most of the movies I want to watch on prime I have to already rent. The only thing that compels me to keep prime is for shopping. I don't even use Amazon music(might be the sh1ttiest app interface+ audio quality). Flipkart is there, but they take too much time to deliver items.

I think extra charges is only for ad free Prime video, in your current and new prime subscription you will be able to get the product early, no need to pay extra.

You can simply downgrade to the Prime Shopping edition. For entertainment purpose, you can go for subscription to other platforms.
