This LI post is fake news tbf. The regulation is only for AI products in testing. You cannot claim that an AI product is under testing after it has been launched. If you are to launch an AI product under testing, you have to take permissions from the government before.

Even I initally thought all AI products are regulated and ranted a ton. But actually not as insane a regulation as I thought before ranting a ton about it. Once I read what's actually proposed, I realised how social media spreads clickbait fake news so quickly.

They just slow down everything 😮‍💨 and then wonder why don't we have thriving startups in India 🤦‍♀️

oh yeah.. if not for the government, our IT companies would have created a AI robocop.

its been 33 years since liberalization. the biggest idea to come out of IT industry is "cost savings thru currency arbitrage." We don't have decent idea that originated in India. Every Startup today is practically a copy from the west. We do not have a decent software product that we can claim as a competitor for the western product. Our manufacturing is still at least 20 years behind.
Now these Tech ceos will blame the government to hide their incapability.

AI startups are few in India mostly because the VC funding is directed towards companies that use tech than build it. Infact, a few VCs actually prefer companies that use some cloud's AI tech services ( out of the big 3, Google , Azure and AWS) over building their own technology. The demand for people who can train AI on a cloud service than someone who has published a few papers in their MTech.

Guess the “fascist” remark has hurt the supreme leader lol. Indian politicians’ ego is so fragile that they will rather curtail innovation.

Now every model’s output will be censored by Meity for “sensitive info” before it’s allowed to be released.

GenAI is another information dispersion channel, govt wants to guard rail the information consumed by the people. However, we don’t have any (atleast scaled) ‘original’ GAI company, no information shared on parameters which govt will look into before providing any info.
