How do you make the exams less cut throat without affecting the quality of the intake? An exam is still a better way than profile filing and all those shenanigans. I learnt recently that girls were given a 20% reservation at IITs. That just puts the onus on smart ones to engage their brains by themselves as the exams/curriculum would never be as challenging.
Problem is not the exams, but that clearing the exams are the only way to social mobility. That is hard to change.

This is just political marketing speech, nothing substantial would be done aleady the current setup not fair to lowest tier income households. How do they plan to filter 20k kids from 1million plus kids? Genuinely curious as people crib about IIM fees so hike won't be done on IIT Fees very unlikely.
